The Republicans are forgetting already what they learned during the past election when they blind-sided the Democrats - not to lose sight of their objectives. The Democrats were so sure they would win by sitting on their past victories, they didn't listen to the rumbling of discontent from their constituents.
Currently, the Republican Party is roasting Sen. John Warner for not supporting an ex-Marine convicted of several offenses who thought he should represent the commonwealth. The election results indicated the people knew what John Warner knew - they didn't want Oliver North in Congress.
How many Republicans, who are browbeating Senator Warner, can honestly state they have been 100 percent true party members since joining? Not many, I venture to say.
I am but one vote, but the Hon. John Warner can count on it if he wants it.
Newt Gingrich and friends have some excellent ideas - long overdue for the country. They've already pushed some through and can do the nation a great favor by backing John Warner in the coming election.
