CAREER TRACK

ADVERTISING

William L. Rueger, who retired last November as NationsBank's senior banking executive in Hampton Roads, has joined the Norfolk marketing, advertising, and public relations firm Group III Communications Inc. in Norfolk as an account supervisor. Rueger, who was with NationsBank and its predecessor banks in Virginia for 29 years, will be responsible for managing and developing account relationships for Group III.

ARCHITECTURAL

C. Michael Ross was named a partner with Hargrove, Brockwell & Associates in Virginia Beach. Ross, a member of the American Institute of Architects, joined the architectural firm in 1983.

CUSTOMS BROKERS

James H. Brock was named executive vice president with Fred P. Gaskell Co. in Norfolk. Brock is the former owner of Norton & Ellis Inc. an international freight forwarding and custom house brokerage firm in Norfolk. He previously was vice president with TMX Shipping Co. in Chesapeake.

Gaskell also promoted Becky Wareto vice president and general manager. Ware has been a licensed custom house broker with the company.

ENGINEERING

Langley and McDonald named C. Gregory Johnson and John L. Hutcherson senior associates, and Kenneth S. Merner and Joseph A. Mathews associates in its engineering firm.

Johnson has been with the firm for three years, working in its land development division in Virginia Beach.

Hutcherson, a civil engineer, is in Langley and McDonald's Williamsburg office.

Merner also works in the land development division in Virginia Beach. He joined the firm in 1983.

And, Mathews, a landscape architect with the firm for more than five years, is also in the Williamsburg office.

Sharyn L. Fox was appointed regional marketing manager for the Southern region with URS Consultants in Virginia Beach. Prior to joining the engineering and architectural firm, Fox was in regional marketing with Buchart-Horn in Williamsburg.

MEDIA

Jeff Vogt was promoted from to advertising sales manager for Online with The Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger-Star. Vogt had been developing advertising applications for Online and InfiNet for the newspapers.

And, Erik Monsen was promoted from director of technical services for careerWeb to national account executive.

STOCK BROKERAGE

David A. Love was promoted to an assistant vice president with Scott & Stringfellow Inc. in Norfolk. Love, an investment broker, joined the brokerage firm in 1989.

RETIREMENT CARE

The Westminster-Canterbury of Hampton Roads Foundation elected Robert C. Stackhouse chairman. Stackhouse is a partner in the law firm of Stackhouse, Smith & Nexsen in Norfolk.

RETAIL

William M. Anderson was promoted from an indoor air quality consultant to director of government sales with Virginia CleanAire Inc. in Virginia Beach. He joined the company last year.

SERVICE

Mid-Atlantic BellCom in Chesapeake named James R. Revell Sr. chief executive officer and Richard O. Flora II president.

Revell and Flora are co-founders of the service company. Revell served as president and Flora was vice president and secretary. Flora will continue as director of operations.

The company will be building a new facility in the Greenbrier section later this year.

ORGANIZATIONS

The Central Business District Association elected Burrell F. Saunders president. Saunders is with CMSS Architects in Virginia Beach. MEMO: Career Track reports upper-level executive and management changes. Items

accepted include appointments as chairman, president, vice president,

department heads, and partner or principal in a professional firm.
