Magdalene Gertie Johnston, 72, of the 300 block of Marlboro Road, died April 19, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.
She was a native of Buckingham County, Va., a retired licensed practical nurse in Portsmouth and a member of Biltmore Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Harris and Annie Harris.
Survivors include her husband, Andrew J. Johnston Jr.; a daughter, Sarah Rebecca Price of Hopewell, Va.; two sons, Andrew J. Johnston III of Portsmouth and John Thomas Johnston of Virginia Beach; a brother, William Harris of Portsmouth; and three grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. T.M. Frye. Memorial donations may be made to Biltmore Baptist Church. Arrangements by Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel.
