CORA W. SMITH

Cora Warren Smith, of the 7000 block of Auburne Ave., died April 24, 1995, in Lake Taylor Hospital.

Mrs. Smith was born in Williamston, N.C. She was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church, Norfolk, for over 50 years, president of the Usher Board, member of the Missionary Board and Lane's Jewels Tent (NU)515, president of the Usher Council and chaplain of the royal chamber. She was the widow of Nathaniel Smith and was retired.

Survivors include two nieces, Doris Williams of Portsmouth and Mary A. Brown of Philadelphia, Pa.; and a nephew, Alonzo Wilson of Norfolk. She was the daughter of the late Catherine Williams and Daniel Rascoe.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at First Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. Calvin James. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Family will assemble at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Hale Funeral Home for procession to the church. ILLUSTRATION: Personal photo
