NAME CHANGES /[BANKRUPTCIES]

JMB Retail Properties Co., a management affiliate of Urban Shopping Centers Inc., has changed its name to Urban Retail Properties Co. The company is the retail property manager of Military Circle Mall in Norfolk.

Bankruptcies filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Norfolk:

Ponko Construction Corp. filed chapter 7 liquidation on April 28, with assets of $31,174.97 and liabilities of $102,148.87.

James H. Davenport, trading as Hughie's Used Cars, filed Chapter 7 liquidation on May 3. Assets and liabilities were not available.

Diamond Back Plumbing Inc. filed Chapter 7 liquidation on May 3, with assets of $5,392 and liabilities of $98,298.

John Howard Harrington and Harriet Harrington, newspaper delivery service, filed Chapter 7 liquidation on May 4, with assets of $8,020 and liabilities of $104,081.

Correction: The Chapter 7 bankruptcy filed by Earl Stewart Armel Jr. on April 25, 1995 listed the debtor as owning 50 percent of the stock of Sister's Two Inc., trading as Nick's Restaurant. Sister's Two Inc. has not filed bankruptcy. Also, there is no connection with Everett Express Inc. and this bankruptcy.

GOV. CONTRACTS

American Management Systems Inc., based in Arlington with offices in Norfolk, received a $9 million contract from the Navy for modification to a contract for management technical and professional support services. About 70 percent of the work on the contract is scheduled to be done in Norfolk.

J.B. Denny Co. in Virginia Beach received a $14 million contract from the Navy for bachelor enlisted quarters at the Norfolk Naval Station.

J.C.B. Construction Co. Inc. in Virginia Beach received a $987,235 contract from the city of Virginia Beach for water and sewer improvements at Lakeville Estates.

Virtexco Corp. in Norfolk received a $1.8 million contract from the city of Chesapeake for Western Branch Park, Phase II. MEMO: Digest reports news of record about businesses in Hampton Roads. Items

accepted include reports of mergers, acquisitions, relocations,

significant expansions, substantial government contract awards, national

honors and awards.
