CHERRY DURHAM

Cherry Durham of the 1200 block of Bells Mill Road, died Tuesday, June 6, 1995, in her residence.

Mrs. Durham was born in Norfolk County and was the widow of Hosea Durham. She was a member of Lee's Chapel AME Church, Chesapeake, Mother of the Church, member of the Choir for 79 years, and member of the Stewardess Board, Missionary Board, Voices by the Sea, Frances Jones Singers and member of Bethel Choir for 12 years. She was also a member of Crestwood Baptist Choir, other choirs, Eastern Star, NAACP, Household of Ruth, Tents and was an 80-year member of Lee's Chapel AME Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Pearl Holley of Chesapeake; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; four great-great-great-grandchildren; eight nieces; and two nephews.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday in Lee's Chapel AME Church, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Horace Cross. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Chatman Funeral home, Norfolk, is in charge.
