LOUISE M. BANGIT

Louise Mills Bangit, 77, of Norfolk, died June 8, 1995, in Wiliamsburg at the home of her son.

Mrs. Bangit was born in Greenswood, British Columbia, June 5, 1918. She was a World War II veteran of the Canadian Women's Army Corp and worked at the Canadian Embassy in Washington, D.C.

Mrs. Bangit was married to the late Edward N. Bangit and lived 12 years at Weyanoke Farm in Charles City, Va. She was a Church of England Anglican and a former member of Westover Episcopal Church. Mrs. Bangit was a member of the Fleet Reserve and the Ladies Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign Wars. She was a volunteer for Navy Relief.

She is survived by her children, a daughter, Victoria B. Baum of Oak Harbor, Wash.; two sons, John Mills Bangit of Williamsburg and Michael Mills Bangit of Norfolk; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

The memorial service will be held Saturday at 4 p.m. at Bucktrout Funeral Home of Williamsburg with the Rev. Mortimer T. Bowman and Pastor Michael R. Privett officiating. Visitation will be immediately following. Burial will take place in Arlington National Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the James City County Volunteer Rescue Squad.
