GILMAN E. WILKINS

Gilman Everett Wilkins of the 2700 block of Victoria Ave., a retired merchant seaman, died June 6, 1995, in his home.

Mr. Wilkins was born in Norfolk and was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Berkley, and was a member of the International Seafarers Union of North America, AFL-CIO.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Wilkins; a daughter, Monisha Wilkins of Portsmouth; four sons, Gilman Wilkins and O'Kerri Wilkins of Chesapeake, Melvin Perry of Virginia Beach and John Wilkins of Portsmouth; four sisters, Josephine Boyce of Virginia Beach, Olivia Martin of Chesapeake, Margaret Pippens and Jetta Knight of Tarboro, N.C.; two brothers, James Wilkins of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Earl Wilkins of Norfolk; three grandchildren, Monquell Wilkins, Malieke Wilkins and Rashid Bynum of Portsmouth; and many other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Mount Zion Baptist Church, Berkley, Norfolk, by the Rev. Dr. Charles Hart. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The body will be in church at noon Saturday. Fitchett Funeral Home is handling arrangements. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
