Anglers on Jennettes Pier caught a mixture of blues, Spanish mackerel and bottom fish. Several king mackerel were seen but they were uncooperative.

Two 20-pound jacks were released at Outer Banks Pier. In addition, some small blues, spot, lots of croaker and a few trout were decked.

On Hatteras Island, anglers on Rodanthe Pier caught blues and some keeper gray trout.

Avon Pier reported some small blues, a couple of black drum and some nice pompano.

Fishermen on Frisco Pier caught some small bottom fish and released lots of small gray trout.

Along the beach from Rodanthe to Buxton, small bottom fish were taken.

Only a few tailor blue and a couple of puppy drum were landed at Cape Point. South of the cape, small flounder, blue and bottom fish were beached.

Warm, clear water should produce some king and cobia action for pier fishermen along the northern beaches over the weekend.
