EDNA V. CHESKI

Edna Viola Cheski died Monday, June 19, 1995, at Slidell Memorial Hosptial at 88 years of age.

She was born Jan. 11, 1907, in Low Moor, Iowa, the seventh daughter of nine children born to Otto R. Johnson and Emelia Kristina Swanson Johnson, all deceased. She was the widow of William A. Cheski, predeceased by infant daughter Jean Ann Cheski, and is survived by a son, Douglas W. Cheski of Arlington, Va., and her daughter, Donna C. Glover of Slidell, La.; five grandchildren, Richard Alan Cheski, Thomas W. Cheski of Arlington, Va., Keith B. Glover, W. Christopher Glover of Slidell and Dana Suzanne Glover Palmer of Murrieta, Calif.

She was employed by the Treasury Department in Washington, D.C. as a secretary before her marriage and after raising her family as a legal secretary at the firm of Sacks, Sacks & Tavss in Norfolk. She was a resident of Norfolk for 38 years and a charter member of St. John's Lutheran Church. The last five years she resided with her daughter in Slidell, La.

Funeral services will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, Norfolk, on Saturday at 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens on Virginia Beach Blvd. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling arrangements.
