firm, took the oath of office during his investiture ceremony

Friday. Goodwyn is one of the first African Americans appointed to

Chesapeake's formerly all-white, all-male bench. His appointment

begins July 1 to General District Court.

AT LEFT: Eileen Anita Olds, a private practitioner, took the oath of

office last week as one of the first African Americans and the first

female appointed to Chesapeake's judiciary. Her appointment to

Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court begins July 1.
