Nelson Armsted Harvey Jr., 14, of the 4000 block of Holly Cove Drive, a ninth-grade student at Western Branch Middle School, died July 7, 1995, at Lake Ahoy in Chesapeake.
Nelson was born in Owensboro, Ky.
Survivors include his mother, Cecilia M. Harvey of Chesapeake; his father, Nelson A. Harvey Sr. of Lancaster, Va.; two sisters, Shaneether McRath of Chesapeake and Tyesha Harvey of Lancaster; two brothers, George Harvey of Chesapeake and Tremaine Harvey of Lancaster; maternal grandparents, Barbara Jean Webb and Sam McRath, both of Kentucky; uncles; aunts; a niece, Lakeera McRath of Chesapeake; cousins and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Mount Calvary Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. W.S. Hampton. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Corprew Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Thursday. The family will be receiving friends at the home of his aunt, Kay Harvey, 86 Manley St., Portsmouth, Va., and at the residence, 4024 Holly Cove Drive, Chesapeake, where they will assemble for the funeral service.
