STUDENT HOUSE TO BE SOLD

For the 20th consecutive year, Manteo High School will put its student-built house on the auction block.

The three-bedroom, two-bathroom house will go to the highest bidder at 10 a.m. Friday. The bidding will take place at the house, which is located behind Manteo High School.

The new owners must pay 10 percent down with the balance due within 30 days, and they have to move the building.

The 1,144-square foot house was built by the high school's carpentry class. The annual sale provides the materials, tools and equipment to build another house the next year.
