ARTISTS DONATE WORKS FOR AUCTION

Local artists will auction their finest work Aug. 6 at the Sanderling Inn to raise funds for The Nature Conservancy's Nags Head Woods Preserve.

Among the artists contributing to this year's Nags Head Woods Benefit Auction are Rick Tupper, John de la Vega, Betty Haskin, Carol Trotman, Glenn Eure and Nancy Turtle May.

The auction also will feature designer apparel and accessories, jewelry, carvings, gourmet dinners and an all-expenses-paid trip to Manhattan with tickets to two Broadway shows.

Jazz singer Laura Martier will perform. A buffet meal and refreshments will be served.

Tickets cost $40 per person. Sponsor tickets cost $75, with sponsors' names listed in the evening's program.

Cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and a silent auction begin at 5 p.m. The main auction begins at 6.
