LONNIE MORRIS

Lonnie Morris, 100, of 1300-D Eastway, Southgate Manor Apartments, died Aug. 27, 1995, in Albemarle Hospital.

He was the oldest member of the St. James Missionary Baptist Church where he was on the Deacon Board. He was a member of the Golden Leaf Elks Lodge (NU)12 of Elizabeth City, N.C. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Ida Morris; and his wife Luella Riddick Morris.

He is survived by one daughter, Patricia M. Poole of Elizabeth City; two sons, Calvin L. Morris of Norfolk, and James W. Morris of Chicago, Ill.; one sister, Elsie Russell of Philadelphia, Pa.; 14 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. today in St. James Missionary Baptist Church, Parkview Drive, Elizabeth City, N.C., by the Rev. Melvin Cooper. Burial will be in New Oak Grove Cemetery, Elizabeth City. Viewing was Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Stallings Funeral Home, Elizabeth City, and the family will be at the home of the deceased.
