Virginia Roane Menzel, a Norfolk native, died Sept. 3, 1995, in a Virginia Beach nursing home.
She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Martin Roane, and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Curtis B. Roane of Portsmouth. She was a member of Christ and St. Luke's Episcopal Church, where she was parish secretary for a number of years. Mrs. Menzel retired as a secretary for Richmond Greyhound Lines. She attended Blackstone College for girls.
Survivors include two sons, Richard E. Menzel of Portland, Ore., and Roane N. Menzel of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, 1995, in Oak Grove Cemetery, Portsmouth. Friends are invited to attend. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
