Johnnie W. Shelton, 66, of the first block of Holly Hill Lane, died Oct. 1, 1995, in his residence.
He was retired from the U.S. Navy after 23 years of service. Mr. Shelton was a member of Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth J. Shelton; four daughters, Jeritza Jeffries, Joyce Robinson, Barbara Brown, and Rita Clark; one son, Maurice Robinson; brother, Tommie Shelton; brother-in-law, Shelton Brown; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday by the Rev. Reginald Early in Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Church. Burial is in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk. The family will be at the residence. Memorial donations may be made to the church. Fisher Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
