CAPT. CHARLES GRIFFIN

Capt. Charles Daniel Griffin, U.S. Navy retired, a native of Portsmouth, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 1995 in Williamsburg Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.

He retired from the U.S. Navy as a Captain in 1971 after 32 years of service. He was a member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church and was a Williamsburg resident for three years.

He is survived by his wife Mary Frances Griffin of Williamsburg; one daughter, Nancy and son-in-law Hunter Sledd of Richmond.

A memorial service was conducted in St. Martin's Episcopal Church, at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 10, 1995. Following the service a reception was held in Chambrel.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 1333 Jamestown Rd., Williamsburg, Va. 23185. Arrangements by Williamsburg Funeral Home.
