LAVERNE LUTHER

Laverne Luther, 46, of the 2600 block of Harvard Drive, died Oct. 11, 1995, in Chesapeake General Hospital.

She was a native of Norfolk County and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Chesapeake.

She is survived by her husband, Chester Luther of Portsmouth; two sons, Chester Luther Jr. of Philadelphia and James A. Boyd, U.S. Army, of Fort Polk, La.; four sisters, Vertie M. Hill, Evelyn Edmonds, Marie Felton, all of Portsmouth and Irene Newton of Norfolk; four brothers, Melvin Brickhouse, John Wallace Brickhouse, both of Chesapeake, Charles Brickhouse of Portsmouth, and Rudolph Brickhouse of Norfolk; four grandchildren; a special caring friend, Felecia D. Twine; one aunt, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday by the Rev. Robert L. Baker in Corprew Funeral Home. Burial is in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing at the funeral home will begin at noon Sunday. The family will be at the home of her sister, Mrs. Vertie M. Hill, 305 Dorset Ave., Portsmouth, and will assemble there for the funeral service.
