ARNETUS J. BASS

Arnetus ``Teddie'' Josephine Bass, 76, of 929 Brandermill Drive, formerly of Surgoinsville, Tenn., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 24, 1995, at Portsmouth Naval Hospital after a brief illness.

She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Barney and Josephine Hudnel Barlow. She was in sales with Stanley Products.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph Lee Bass; daughter, Sharon Lee Paulk of Columbia, S.C.; two sons, Parley Applegate of Omaha, Neb., and Ralph Bass Jr. of Savannah, Ga.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Arleine Robertson of Tehachapi, Calif., and Arbutus Sanford of Rancho Cuccamunga, Calif.; one brother, Melbourne H. Barlow of Tehachapi; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Broome Funeral Home Chapel, Rogersville, Tenn., with the Rev. Joe Simpson and the Rev. Phillip Lyons officiating. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Armstrong Cemetery, Surgoinsville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Chesapeake.
