MICHAEL D. BAKER

Michael Daval Baker, 29, of the 6400 block of Leafwood Road, died Oct. 25, 1995.

He was a retired Military Guard for the U.S. Army after seven years. He was a native of New York City and was a member of Mount Sinia where he was a member of Jericbo Mass Choir in Washington, D.C. He was an honor guard for President George Bush and President Bill Clinton. He was also on the Provost Marshall Staff, Washington, D.C.

He is survived by his natural mother, Vernell Baker; adoptive father, the Rev. Henry G. Baker; adoptive mother, Lucy Branch Baker; grandmother, Sarah Howell Baker; two aunts, Shirley E. Harris of Neptune, N.J., and Mauritta Y. Hill of Richmond, Va.; three uncles, Herman L. Baker Sr. of Atlanta, the Rev. L.T. Baker of Hilton Head, S.C., and S. Allison Baker of Richmond. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Samuel Moses Baker.

The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday by the Rev. J.H. Goode and L.T. Baker in Mount Sinia Baptist Church, Suffolk. Burial is in Mount Sinia Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Peebles Funeral Home in charge.
