C. EARL ARMSTRONG

C. Earl Armstrong, 81, died Oct. 31, 1995.

A native of Gates County, he was a graduate of Mars Hill College. He was associated with Armstrong Lumber Company in Sunbury, N.C., from 1936 to 1955. He then became a district manager for Investors Diversified Services for eleven years and was then in the textile business as a founder and owner; he was the owner of Marketplace Business Brokerage until his retirement in 1987. Mr. Armstrong was a member of First United Methodist Church, a member of the Wilson Sudan Temple and a Mason. He was also a past member of Wilson Kiwanis Club.

A funeral will be today at 1 p.m. in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, conducted by Rev. Linwood Blackburn.

Surviving are his wife, Ethel Vick Crawley Armstrong; son, C.E. Armstrong Jr. of Eden; daughter, Kaye Lane of Bath, England; stepson, George E. Crawley Jr. of Wilson; brother, Robert Frank Armstrong of Charlotte; four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
