Ford recalls 38,300 trucks to fix throttles

Ford Motor Co. is recalling 38,300 medium- and heavy-duty trucks from model years 1993-94 to replace a part of the hand-throttle system that might fail. The hand-throttle swivel is used to set an engine's speed. There have been no reports of accidents or injuries related to the problem, which prevents the engine from returning to idle, Ford said. Of the 38,300 affected trucks, 2,535 were sold in Canada. Repairs will be performed for free by Ford dealerships. (Associated Press) by CNB
