Susan West, president of the Hatteras-Okracoke Auxiliary Chapter, has been honored as an outstanding representative of the North Carolina Fisheries Association.
West, who serves on the board of directors and is active in the commercial fishing industry, was one of two people to win the citation. The other was Roy Watson, a Pamlico County fishermen.
Jerry Schill, executive director of the association, was cited for his leadership by the directors. They were honored at the annual meeting of the association in New Bern Saturday night.
Directors named at the meeting in addition to West include Billy Carl Tillet of Wanchese, Joey Daniels of Wanchese, Ricky Nixon of Edenton, and Cindy Douglas, president of the Dare-Currituck Auxiliary chapter. by CNB
