Hildra Q. Eason

CHESAPEAKE - Hildra Q. Eason, 76, of the 500 block of Hartswood Terrace, died Nov. 30, 1995, in Virginia Beach.

He retired from Norfolk Naval Air Station in 1972 after 27 years of service as an aviation metalsmith. He was a native of Gates County, N.C., and was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church in Norfolk, where he served on the vestry. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member and past commander of the 29th Division Association Post Number 5. He was a devoted husband and father.

Mr. Eason is survived by his wife, Ruth D. Eason; daughter, Janie E. Hancock of Virginia Beach; two sons, Chester Q. Eason of Virginia Beach and Patrick C. Eason of Oxon Hill, Md.; sister, Frances E. Rock of Norfolk; four grandchildren, Jeremy Stutzman of Chesapeake, and Christopher Eason, Derek Eason and Candice Hancock, all of Virginia Beach. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lydia.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in St. Peters Episcopal Church, by the Rev. Anthony Diffenbaugh, retired minister of the church. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to St. Peters Episcopal Church, 224 S. Military Highway, Norfolk, Va. 23502.
