JAMES H. MOORE

James Henry Moore, 82, of the 900 block of Avenue J, died Nov. 30, 1995, in Lake Taylor Hospital.

He was a maintenance worker for the Armed Force Staff College, where he worked for 35 years until his retirement in 1979. He was a native of Edenton, N.C., and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Chesapeake, where he served as trustee and usher. He also served on the deacon board.

He is survived by his wife, Mozell Epps Moore; daughter, Thedoria Moore of Norfolk; son, Dwight Burke of Norfolk; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a special great-niece Shaglenda Spence Bootney; and a niece, Veronica White. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and James E. Moore; and his sister, Elzina Lawson.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday by the Rev. Rayphield Clay in Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1608-1610 East Liberty St., Chesapeake, 23324. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Gardens. The family will assemble at the home at 10 a.m. for the procession to the church. E.A. Hughes Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
