BRYANT W. SCHAFER

Bryant William Schafer, 73, of the 3400 block of Silina Drive, died Dec. 6, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.

He was retired from the U.S. Navy and civil service. He was a native of New York and was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church.

He was the beloved husband of Elba E. Schafer; beloved father of two daughters, Carmen Mulgrew of Chesapeake and Kathryn Mulgrew of Virginia Beach; two sons, George Schafer and William Schafer, both of Virginia Beach; brother, George Schafer of Florida; and 11 grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday by Fr. James M. Noto in St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Burial is in Woodlwan Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and also at 1349 Hunningdons Woods Blvd., Chesapeake. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Military honors will be accorded at the site.
