ROSA M. SHORT

Rosa L. Moore Short, 77, of the 2700 block of Pinewell St., died Dec. 8, 1995, in Portsmouth General Hospital.

Mrs. Short, the widow of Alonzo Short Sr., was a retired site manager at Mount Hermon Senior Citizens Organization. She was a native of Greenville, N.C., and a member of New First Baptist Church Taylorsville, Portsmouth.

Survivors include two sons, Alonzo Short Jr. of Arlington, Va., and Harry Lee Short of Portsmouth; two sisters, Maggie Jones and Leithia LaConte, both of New York; three brothers, Andrew Moore of Portsmouth, June Moore of New York and Lovelace Moore of Crewe, Va.; three grandchildren, Stanley Short of California, Rhonda Short Cuffee of Centerville, Va., Daniele Short Cutler of Portsmouth; five great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Rosalyn Short and Lottie Short; several brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. She was predeceased by a son, Willie James Short.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in New First Baptist Church Taylorsville, by the Rev. T.M. Steele. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The family will be at her residence. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
