CRIME LINE

Local police are asking public assistance in solving these cases:

CHESAPEAKE

On Dec. 4, Royzell Cowart was discovered stabbed to death in his home at 2604-A1 Harvard Drive.

Investigators need help solving the 69-year-old man's homicide.

In the past two months, there has been had a rush of burglaries in the city.

Strip malls on Battlefield Boulevard and Military Highway have been hit especially hard.

The suspects force open the front door or break through an adjoining wall to another business. The suspects are only interested in cash.

About midnight on Nov. 5, a man entered the Texaco station in 1400 block of North Battlefield Blvd. and held up the clerk at gunpoint.

The suspect is described as white, 37, 6 feet 3 inches tall and 180 pounds with sandy-colored hair and a shadow of a mustache.

He was armed with a black automatic pistol and was driving a dark brown, late 1970s model Oldsmobile.

PORTSMOUTH

On Oct. 14, about 3:30 a.m., police were called to the 700 block of Freedom Ave. where they found the body of 32-year-old Jeanette Lee in the street. She had been shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators have very little information and need public assistance.

VIRGINIA BEACH

On Sat., Nov. 18, about 12:30 a.m., an employee of the Surf and Sand movie theater in the 900 block of Laskin Road was confronted by two armed men.

They forced her to the office and after getting money, they ran.

The robbers were described as black and in their twenties.

One man had dark skin and was about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 170 pounds. He wore a gas mask.

The other man was about 6 feet tall, 190 pounds and had light skin and freckles.

They were seen getting into a small, two-door, light-colored car that may have been a Ford Escort. It is described as a low-rider with a loud muffler and was driven by a third man.

SUFFOLK

Antonio L. Jefferson, 22, is wanted on murder-related charges and is known to frequent the Suffolk and Hampton areas.

Jefferson is described as black, 5 feet 7 inches tall, with brown eyes and black hair.

Michael Richard Gomer, 24, is wanted on several counts of probation violation stemming from burglary charges.

Gomer is described as white, 5 feet 6 inches tall, with brown eyes and brown hair. His last know address was 2676 Lake Cahoon Road in Suffolk.

Treslyn Lamar Ward, 18, is wanted for probation violation in Suffolk and firearms-related charges in Portsmouth.

Ward is described as black, with brown eyes, black hair and weighs about 135 pounds. His last known address was the 6300 block of Townpoint Road in Suffolk.

HAMPTON

On Nov. 20, about 7:30 a.m., a 14-year-old girl was walking to her bus stop in the 1100 block of Victoria Blvd. when she was approached by a man.

The suspect placed his arm around the girl's shoulder, said he was armed with a knife and ordered her to walk to a vacant house in the 1400 block of Victoria Blvd.

While on the rear porch, the man fondled the victim.

The suspect is described as a black, 37, 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a slim build and a medium complexion. He had a mole on the left side of his face. He was wearing a navy blue windbreaker and brown pants. ILLUSTRATION: Drawing
