Virginia H. Hawkins, 78, of the 200 block of N. Sparrow Road, died Dec. 18, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mrs. Hawkins was born in McDowell County, N.C., and was the widow of Hiland Casey Hawkins Sr. She was a member of Laurel Avenue Church of Christ, Chesapeake.
Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Mae Kennedy of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., and Iris H. Williams of Chesapeake; a son, Hiland C. Hawkins Jr. of Durham, N.C.; two sisters, Myra Owenby of Swannanoa, N.C., and Ruth Miller of Marion, N.C.; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. by Pastor Rupert Wallace in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Graham Funeral Home in charge. The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel today from 7 to 8 p.m. and at the residence at all other times.
