Funeral services for Fred Richard Elks, 71, of Lasker, will be held Tuesday, Dec. 26, 1995 at the Jackson Baptist Church in Jackson by the Rev. Charles Hulin III, the Rev. Marcus Holmes, and the Rev. Joe McLean. Burial will follow at the Lasker Cemetery.
Mr. Elks was retired from the U.S. Navy and retired from Bow Creek Country Club in Virginia Beach and Valley Pine Country Club in Lasker. He was a member of Lasker Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Charlotte Elks of the home; one son, Richard Elks of Chesapeake; two daughters, Mrs. Denese Barker of Virginia Beach and Mrs. Donna Holmes of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; four grandchildren, Ricky Elks, Christopher Laundre, Jessica Holmes and Jeremy Holmes.
The family will receive friends at Jackson Funeral Home in Jackson from 7:30 to 9 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to Lasker Baptist Church, Lasker, N.C. 27848, or to CBN Network, Medical Plane, 700 CBN Center, Virginia Beach, Va. 23463-0001.
