VERNICE BURROUGHS

Vernice Burroughs, 69, of the 6900 block of Bonnot Drive, died Dec. 23, 1995, in Hillhaven Nursing Center.

She was born in Southampton County, Va., and was a homemaker. She was a member of United House of Prayer for All People, Norfolk (NU)2.

Survivors include three daughters, Mary Whitehead and Octivious McNeil, both of Norfolk, and Edna Belcher of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three sons, Charles Whitehead and Melvin Whitehead, both of Brooklyn, and Carl Whitehead of Portsmouth; 26 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in United House of Prayer for All People, Norfolk (NU)2 by Apostle A. Williams (Officiant) and St. Elder Eugene Wynn (Speaker). Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be from noon to 8 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home, Portsmouth and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Family and friends will assemble at 6924 Bonnot Drive, Norfolk at 12:15 p.m. for the processional to the church.
