Request by Community Services Board for appropriation of $65,640 of HIV/AIDS allocation grant fund awarded by the Virginia Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services. Approved, 9-0.

Request by the Department of Juvenile Detention for appropriation of $18,581.28 of funds allocated by the United States Department of Agriculture. Approved, 9-0.

Request by the Department of Social Services for appropriation of $67,960 of family prevention and family support services program allocation grant funds awarded by the state Department of Social Services. Approved, 9-0.

Consideration of alternatives for the location of the Centerville Turnpike and Land of Promise Road improvement project. Approved 6-3 to Alternative No. 1 with modifications. de Triquet, Newman and Ward voted no.

Consideration of a resolution authorizing the interim city manager and city clerk to execute a certain agreement with the Commonwealth of Virginia, Department of Transportation pertaining to the improvements of Ballahack Road at Backwoods Bridge. Approved, 9-0.

Request by Department of Public Works for appropriation of $308,964.65 for traffic signal at Military Highway and Georgetown Boulevard and at Eden Way and River Birch Run. Approved, 9-0.

Consideration of a resolution for official intent to reimburse expenditures for traffic signalization construction costs with proceeds of bonds. Approved, 9-0.

Request by Department of Public Works for appropriation of $641,770 for Shillelagh Road Phase I construction. Voted, 8-0, to continued to Feb. 27 City Council meeting. Ward was out of the chamber.

An ordinance reducing the personal property tax on recreational vehicles to $1.50 per $100 value effective retroactively as of Jan. 1. Approved of option No. 2, 9-0.

Resolution authorizing the city attorney to institute condemnation proceedings against certain property owned by Vivian Ann Spencer Vanholten and Theodore Arthur Vanholten, to be used for a city well site in connection with enlarging and upgrading the Northwest River Water Treatment Plant. This item was settled and council agreed to pay the owners $10,000 for the property; the action on the condemnation was not needed. Approved, 8-0. Ward was out of the chamber.

Resolution authorizing the city attorney to institute condemnation proceeding against certain property to be sued for right of way and drainage purposes in the construction of sidewalks along Great Bridge Boulevard. Approved, 8-0. Ward was out of chamber.

Resolution approving the issuance of bonds by the Chesapeake Redevelopment and Housing Authority of its multifamily Residential Rental Housing Revenue Bonds in favor of Tidewater House in a principal amount not to exceed $5,400,000 to assist in the financing of the acquisition, construction and equipping of a 101-apartment unit elderly housing project. Approved, 8-0. Ward out of the chamber.
