Ruth Chambers Lawrence, 74, of the 1500 block of Campostella Road, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 1996, at the Brian Center Nursing Home.
Mrs. Lawrence was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was the daughter of the late Ellis and Cassie Stephan Chambers, and the widow of the late William Stuart Lawrence Sr.
She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy L. Stephens of Hertford, N.C., and Louise Lawrence of Virginia Beach; three sons, Carol Mac Lawrence of Chesapeake, Thomas H. Lawrence of Georgia and William S. Lawrence Jr. of Florida; and two brothers, Robert Chambers of Chesapeake and Guss Chambers of Elizabeth City, N.C.
A graveside service will be conducted in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens Saturday at 2 p.m. The family will be receiving friends today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Twiford Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge, Chesapeake.
