EMILY E. MOOTS

Emily ``Peggy'' Moots, 67, of John Knox Tower, 1210 Colonial Ave., was called back home to be with our Lord on Saturday, Feb. 10, 1996. She is in His hands until we join her in her heavenly home. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker to her husband and their 10 children.

Mrs. Moots was a native of the Tidewater area, and was the daughter of the late Willie Lawrence and Bennie E. Edwards. She was a member of the Faith Wesleyan Church and a former member of the A.B.W.A.

Survivors include her devoted and beloved husband of more than 50 years, Oliver Dwight Moots Jr.; six daughters, Mary E. Millirons, Evelyn ``Reese'' Ahmann and Doris M. Hunt, all of Virginia Beach, Elizabeth ``Beth'' Stewart of Newport News, Peggy Joyce Setzer of Chesapeake and Vicki M. Richardson of Bath, N.C.; four sons, Richard L. Moots and Kevin David Moots, both of Virginia Beach, Thomas ``Tommy'' Moots of Chesapeake and Jack Moots of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Doris ``Dottie'' Moots of Chesapeake; 26 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary E. Williams, who passed away recently in December of 1995, and a granddaughter, Jenifer L. Moots, who passed away in April of 1992.

A chapel funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 1996, in Cox Funeral Home by Dr. W. Emmett M. Diggs. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Norfolk. The family will be at Cox Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. for visitation. Following the interment service at the cemetery, the family will receive friends at the home of O.D.
