A man who died late Tuesday night after the 1987 Isuzu pickup he was driving struck a tree went into cardiac arrest just before the accident, police spokesman Larry Hill said.
Clyde M. Gruhl Jr., 52, of the 1100 block of Clarence St., died at the scene about 11:42 p.m. The accident occurred about 11:30 p.m. in the 6500 block of Adair Ave. in the Hollywood neighborhood.
