MURDER CONVICTION

A jury has convicted 23-year-old Keith L. Columbus of first-degree murder and a firearms charge in the fatal shooting of Reginald Anderson.

Anderson, 32, was killed Sept. 8 in the Dale Homes housing community. A Circuit Court jury on Thursday recommended a sentence of 43 years. Columbus was facing a maximum of life in prison.

Columbus, of the 100 block of Wilson Parkway, is also facing a murder charge in the April 7, 1994, stabbing of Bruce E. ``Peanut'' Moody, 33. A trial is scheduled for March 12.
