Duckpin data: Just a week ago we reported on mishaps in bowling centers. Certainly none was more unusual than one last Monday in the Industrial League. Veteran bowler Ronnie Ketchum, not especially pleased with his scoring, lowered his head on the ball return rack and was promptly smacked in the face with a ball. Ronnie didn't say whether it helped his scoring afterward or not but he carried home a walnut-sized lump on his forehead. . . . Rebecca Shumacher, a Victory Youth League bowler, received the Star of the Month award for February from the National Youth Duckpin Association for a 120 game in the Pee Wee Division. In the youth league the past week Lee Hoggard fired a 142 game and 396 series. . . . Bob Dyer, a 120-average shooter in the Friday Nite Trio League, pitched a 422 series but was talking about ``what it could have been.'' Seven one-pinners eluded Dyer. In the same league Karen Nielsen, who averages 104, rolled a 374 series. . . . Jeff Frazier tossed a four-header en route to his 155 game in the Navy Yard League. He averages 101. In the same league David City shattered the three-game record with 446. . . . Debbie Riggs, a 104-average bowler who shot a 157 game in the Thursday Morning Mixed League, was understandably unhappy that her name was spelled incorrectly when the score was reported last week. The next time Debbie rolls an eight-mark game, we promise to do better. . . . The Portsmouth Match Game Championship concludes today with Berlene Byrum and Robin Long bowling MEMO: Published article stopped in mid-sentence.
