LONNIE L. PRITCHARD

Lonnie Lee Pritchard, 85, of the 2800 block of Lambert Trail, died Thursday, March 14, 1996, in Chesapeake General Hospital.

A native of Pasquotank County, N.C., he was the son of the late Derbert and Lillie Belle Evans Pritchard. He retired from NorShipCo as a welder/shipfitter and helped build Snug Harbor Community Church and several churches in the Chesapeake area. He served in the Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Madora Louise Green Pritchard; five daughters, Mary Elizabeth Mapes, Lillian Louise Best and Betty Lee Munden, all of Chesapeake, and Lillie Mae Pritchard and Faye LaRue Cunningham, both of Hertford, N.C.; a son, Thomas Edward Pritchard of Chesapeake; two sisters, Nellie Sawyer and Miriam King, both of Chesapeake; three brothers, Ernest Sawyer, Johnny Sawyer and Raymond Sawyer, all of Chesapeake; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Private services are being held. Donations may be made towards rehabilitation of handicapped youth. Swindell Funeral Home, Hertford, is in charge of arrangements.
