WILLIAM B. CORBELL

William ``Billie'' Bateman Corbell, 68, died Thursday, March 28, 1996, in Albemarle Hospital.

He was a native of Currituck Co., N.C., and had retired from the Norfolk Naval Air Station Public Works Department. He was a member of Poplar Branch Baptist Church; the son of the late Herman Ercell and Fannie Bateman Corbell and the husband of Janet McHorney Corbell of the home.

Besides his wife, Mr. Corbell is survived by a daughter, Amy Ballance of Maple; five sons, William Connell Corbell of Poplar Branch, N.C., Gary Lynn Corbell of Currituck, N.C., Lloyd Warren Corbell of Coinjock, N.C., Larry Wayne Corbell of Maple and Myron Keith Corbell of Elizabeth City; and 12 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Karen Denise Corbell.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, March 31, at 2 p.m. in Twiford's Memorial Chapel, Elizabeth City, with the Rev. Frank Lorenz officiating. Burial will follow in the Poplar Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 7 until 8:30 p.m. and at other times at the residence.
