CHARLES G. BLANKENSHIP III

Charles G. Blankenship III, 41, of the 300 block of Coventry Close, died March 28, 1996, in Chesapeake.

He was a retired meat manger for Be-Lo Foods and a native of Bluefield, W.Va. He was active in bowling at Indian River Lanes where he was in many different leagues for the past 10 years.

He is survived by his wife, Robin Gail Blankenship; four daughters, Carla Dorman and Kristin Dorman, both of Virginia Beach, Jill Marie Mayes of Suffolk, Jennifer Gail Mayes of Chesapeake; mother, Ruth J. Parker and stepfather, Clyde H. Parker, both of Chesapeake; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy Katherine and L.G. Freeman of Chesapeake; brother and sister-in-law, Stanley E. and Candice Blankenship of Chesapeake; and maternal grandmother, Esther Odell Jackson of Montcalm, W.Va. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Groves ``Junior'' Blankenship. Other survivors include, niece, Stacey L. Freeman of Chesapeake; two nephews, Justin S. Freeman and Jeffery S. Harris, both of Chesapeake.

A graveside service will be conducted Sunday at 3:30 p.m. by the Rev. Paul D. Moore in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
