ALICE T. TWIDDY

Alice Taylor Twiddy, 84, of Southern Shores and formerly of Edenton, N.C., died Friday, March 29, 1996, in Chesapeake General Hospital.

Mrs. Twiddy was born in Pitt County, N.C., the daughter of John L. and Virginia Taylor. She was the widow of Wilmer Ellis Malone and George Small Twiddy. She is survived by a son, the Rev. Canon Michael Malone of Charleston, S.C.; two stepsons, Douglas Twiddy of Southern Shores, and Paul Twiddy of Rock Hill, S.C.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Phyllis Staples of Williamsburg; two brothers, Jack Taylor of Norfolk and Jarvis Taylor of Zebulon, N.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Williams and Mrs. Olive Gordon, both of Greenville, N.C; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Edenton, where she was a member, with burial in Beaver Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Russell Johnson, rector of St. Paul's Church, will officiate. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Church or the American Cancer Society. Evans Funeral Home is in charge.
