RICHARD D. ALBERTS

Richard Dehn Alberts died Tuesday April 23, 1996, at his residence.

Mr. Alberts was born in Lincoln, Ill., and was a retired electronic engineer. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Alberts was a recipient of the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the University of Illinois. He was awarded the Decoration of Exceptional Civilian Service for his work in solid state electronics while with the Department of the Air Force. Mr. Alberts was the son of the late Dewey Alberts and the late Alma Georgie Alberts.

He is survived by his wife, Carole Brown Alberts; a daughter, Gretchen E. Alberts of Lebanon, Ohio; a son, David M. Schlorman of Rocky Mount, N.C. He was preceded in death by his son, Dehn P. Alberts.

A graveside service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Southern Shores Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Gill officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dehn Alberts Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Peoples Building and Loan, 11 South Broadway, Lebanon, Ohio 45036. Twiford's Colony Chapel, Manteo, is in charge of arrangements.
