JAMES WILKERSON JR.

James Wilkerson Jr., of the 700 block of Nottingham Drive, passed away at his home on April 25, 1996, after a long illness of cancer at age 71.

He was born in Raleigh, N.C., and was retired from the Naval Air Rework Facility and Raytheon Electronics. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Board of Directors for Chartway Federal Credit Union. He was also a member of Bayside Masonic Lodge (NU)28 A.F. & A.M., Grice Commandry Knights Templar of Norfolk, John Walters Royal Arch Chapter Number 68, member of Lynnhaven Order of Eastern Star (NU)184, Khedive Temple of Shrine A.A.O.N.M.S. of Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach Shrine Club.

He is survived by his wife, Anna B. Wilkerson; two sons, Luther Lewis and wife, Linda, of Norfolk, Sonny Woodall of Virginia Beach; two daughters, Sally Ford and husband, Dave, of Columbus, Ohio, Beatrice Harrell and husband, Frank Sr., of Norfolk; and 10 grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Saturday, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. W. Jerry Holcomb. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, is in charge.
