A pedestrian was killed early Thursday when two cars struck him near the intersection of Chestnut and Coolidge streets.
Police identified the victim as 32-year-old Lawrence E. Cannady of Wirt Avenue.
Police spokeswoman Amber Whittaker said the accident occurred at about 5 a.m. No charges have been filed against the drivers.
