ALVIN W. FRANKLIN

Alvin W. ``Al'' Franklin, 53, of the 1300 block of Willowwood Lane, died April 27, 1996, at his residence.

Mr. Franklin retired from the U.S. Navy after 23 years of service. He also was a computer specialist for FTSC LANT. Mr. Franklin was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association and the Norfolk American Bowling Congress.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; his mother, Eva M. Franklin of Texas; a daughter, Michelle R. Burk of North Carolina; a son, Timothy A. Franklin of Maryland; two sisters, Anita Collier and Nancy Smith, both of Texas; brother, David L. Franklin of Tennessee; and two granddaughters.

A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, May 1, at 11 a.m. in Princess Anne Memorial Park. the Rev. Warren Chapman presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Altmeyer Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
