GAS FOR A SONG

Stan Wade, promotion director of Eagle 97.3 FM, pumps gas at 97.9

cents a gallon for a customer at the Exxon station on Northampton

Boulevard in Virginia Beach Tuesday morning. 97.3 FM and The Score

1310 AM capitalized on motorists' dismay over high gas prices by

offering regular unleaded gasoline for 97.9 cents from 6 a.m. to 10

a.m. as part of a radio promotion. That same motorist dismay has

prompted debate in Washington over the gasoline tax. See story/A1
