MARY C. STEWART

Mary Cooper Stewart, 82, of the 300 block of Gracie Road, died May 17, 1996.

Mrs. Stewart, the widow of Alvah Howard Stewart, was born in Scotland Neck, N.C. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of South Norfolk.

Survivors include four daughters, Margaret Ippolito of Chesapeake, Mildred Bennett of Worcester, Mass., Lucy Gillens of Rochester, N.Y., and Mary Stewart Guthrie of Pittsburgh, Pa.; three sons, Howard L. Stewart and Robert E. Stewart, both of Chesapeake, and John Thomas Stewart of Marianna, Fla.; five sisters, Mildred Vaughan, Lelia Hope Totty, Juanita Baker, Dorothy Harrell, all of Chesapeake, and Frances Clark of South Carolina; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday by the Rev. Jan Davis at First Presbyterian Church of South Norfolk. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens of Norfolk. The family will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m. and at the residence at all other times.
