CRIME LINE

Police are asking for help in solving these cases:

HAMPTON

The Advance Auto Parts in the 3800 block of Kecoughtan Road was robbed on May 18, 1996. A man entered the store at 8:15 p.m., put a knife to the clerk's throat and demanded that he open the safe. The robber then ran toward the rear of the business.

The suspect was described as a black male in his mid 20s, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 pounds, wearing a purple T-shirt, blue jeans and black sunglasses.

CHESAPEAKE

Central Meat Packing, located in the 1100 block of Kempsville Road, was vandalized twice in mid-May. Vandals cut freon, electrical and natural gas lines, causing $60,000 in damage. Graffiti, signed by the Animal Liberation Front, was on the sides of the building.

PORTSMOUTH

A 14-year-old boy was found murdered in the 900 block of County St. at 6:46 a.m. on April 17, 1996. He was found slumped over a chair with a gunshot wound to the head. He lived in the 2300 Block of Green Street.

Police have little information. It appeared that some type of struggle had occurred, and drugs may have been involved. They have no leads as to why he was killed or who killed him.

VIRGINIA BEACH

Four men are wanted for several thefts from vending machines at the Oceanfront.

Three men were described as white, each with a mustache and wearing a cap. Two of them appear to be in their late 20s or early 30s. The third man appears to be in his 40s. The fourth man is black, has braided hair and appears to be in his 20s. ILLUSTRATION: Photos
