Hesse Williams Baum, 83, of the 400 block of Butterfly Drive, died May 28, 1996, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Baum was born in Buxton, N.C. She was the daughter of the late Bateman A. and Missouri Midgett Williams. Mrs. Baum was a superb mother and homemaker. She was a member of Oaklette Methodist Church.
Mrs. Baum is survived by her husband, Joseph W. Baum; a daughter, Karen B. Marshall and her husband, Jon Marshall; a son, Joseph Alton Baum; and two grandchildren, Lesa and Shawn Marshall, all of Chesapeake; a sister, Minnie Gianetti of North Carolina.
The funeral will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. in Bethany United Methodist Church, Wanchese, with the pastor Billy Holliday officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at 637 Butterfly Drive, Chesapeake, and the home of Mary Flemming, Baum Town Road, Wanchese, following the service. Twiford Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge and Twiford Colony Chapel, Manteo are handling all arrangements.
